BREAKING! Qatar Deploy Heavy Security At Al Bayt Stadium To Curb Tensions With Moroccan Fans In WC Semifinal! (Video)

Qatar has beefed up security at the Al Bayt Stadium ahead of Morocco’s World Cup semi-final clash with France, MySportDab reports.

Morocco takes on France in a highly anticipated World Cup semifinal featuring an African team for the first time in the tournament’s history.

Morocco reached the tournament’s semifinals after eliminating the likes of Spain and Portugal in the round of 16 and quarterfinal, respectively.

France reached the semifinal after eliminating Poland and England in the knockouts.

While France is tipped to carry the day against the Atlas Lions, they, however, have to break through Morocco’s brink wall defense, who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament, except an own goal.

Meanwhile, reports reaching us have confirmed that the organizers of the tournament have beefed up security ahead of the crucial semifinal encounter.

A video available at the end of this post shows heavy security presence at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The security officials form a ring block to ensure only those with tickets for the match are allowed to pass.

The heavy security measure is adopted because of the anticipated mass turnout of mostly Moroccan fans in the Al Bayt Stadium, which is the venue of the semifinal clash.

The Al Bayt Stadium is a 68,000-capacity stadium – the second biggest Stadium in Qatar.

Now, there are fears that more Moroccan fans coming from other Arab countries will hit close to 60,000, and not all will have a ticket to the match.

Hence, security officials are deploying a heavy security mechanism to check intruders, especially Moroccan fans, who may cause disruptions at the venue by turning in without tickets.

The match is set to kick off by 19:00GMT (8PM Nigerian time)_ and the winner will play Argentina in the final.
