FT: South Korea 2-1 Portugal, Portuguese Top’ Koreans Progress! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

South Korea claimed a 2-1 win against Portugal which saw them progress as Portuguese seal top spot ahead of next round, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The first half of the match was good coming from both countries who had their opportunities and they put it all into perfect use at a point in the game.

Portugal started well in the encounter and they were able to score the opening goal after a perfect run from Dalot who setup Ricardo Horta to make the scoreline 0-1 in the 5th minutes.

The game carried on with Korea having to deal with a lot of pressure until Kim Young-gwon leveled things after scoring from a ball which hit Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 1-1 in the 27th minute.

The Portuguese pushed on to take the lead which saw Cristiano Ronaldo going close with a diving header from a saved strike which was unable to hit target.

It ended in the first half with Portugal being held to a 1-1 draw after 45 minutes of the game against South Korea who were also good.

Second Half Report

The second half kicked off with both sides making sure they commit enough bodies forward to make sure something happen in the remainder of the match.

Portugal were still safe to finish top of the group as the other game between Ghana and Uruguay was already 2-0 in favor of the Uruguayans who were dominating that match.

South Korea were down further and could only carry on with the game hoping they can take the lead against their opponent who weren’t looking to allow themselves go down.

A late goal in the 90th minute plus added time saw Hwang Hee-chan netting to put the Koreans ahead 2-1 in an outstanding fashion which wasn’t expected to happen.

The match carried on and came to an end with South Korea claiming a 2-1 victory against Portugal which sees them tag along with the Portuguese into the next round of 16.
