FT: Morocco 0-0 Spain, Atlas Lions Progress 3-0 Via PENALTIES! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Morocco advance into the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals for the first time beating Spain 3-0 via penalties, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The first half of the encounter was a heated one between both teams who had a good one defending against themselves all through.

Spain came into the game as the favorite team to land the winning which saw them dominating play immediately and doing everything to make sure they have total control before pushing for a goal.

It wasn’t easy for Morocco as they could barely see much of the ball going forward in what had them doing more than enough to ensure they also gave it a good fight from their end.

It was an end to end game which the Spanish press so hard but they find it very difficult to break down the Moroccans who were okay to carry on in the match goalless.

The first half ended with Morocco being held to a goalless 0-0 scoreline against Spain after 45 minutes of football between the both of them heading into the break.

Second Half Report

The second half continued in slow pace which nothing could materialize in the early minutes as they continued pushing against each other.

Morocco were fine with everything but at the same time were living dangerously as the pressure was all over them against their opponent.

It was an end to end the battle in which Spain had most of the opportunities which they failed to put to good use as they entered the final few minutes left of regular play.

The 90th minute plus additional time came and ended with Morocco 0-0 Spain which saw them heading into more extra time to decide a winner between them both.

Extra Time Report 

It wasn’t an easy extra time for both halves which saw both teams working very hard with the game pushing on and none of them could make anything happen all through the 30 minutes of football as they headed for penalties.

Penalty Report

Spain couldn’t score any of their penalties which saw Morocco smashing them 3-0 to progress into the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup in the first time in their history.
