FT: Costa Rica 2-4 Germany, Germans Crash Out Of World Cup! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Germany crash out of the group stages despite 2-4 victory against Costa Rica, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The game started well with both Nations standing equal chance of making it through with them needing just three points to qualify.

Germany started well with Serge Gnabry scoring the opening goal in the 10th minute when a good teamwork effort saw the Bayern Munich man made it 0-1 as it progressed.

Costa Rica didn’t just seat back but did a lot to make sure they come back into the game which carried on but nothing was able to come through despite all they tried to ensure a goal happened.

There is more which happened but it couldn’t change the scoreline which had the Germans in front heading into the 40th minute with more coming back to back.

The first half ended with Germany taking a 0-1 advantage into the break against Costa Rica in which puts them in a good position to qualify as Spain was already leading Japan.

Second Half Report

The second half was cagey as both teams gave a good account of themselves but it wasn’t for a goal to happen for either of them.

Germany remained focused despite knowing Japan had leveled things against Spain which meant their qualification was at risk as the game carried.

Costa Rica from their part didn’t have much to offer as they only aim was to level things and it happened in the 58th minute after an incredible goal from Yeltsin Tejeda made it 1-1.

Another goal from Costa Ricans in the 70th minute from Vargas made his side go ahead meaning they were cruising in to the next round having a 2-1 lead.

Kai Havertz leveled things 2-2 in the 73rd minute of the game which wasn’t good enough as they still needed to make something happen if they want to progress.

The Chelsea man made it his brace in the 85th minute which saw the Germans restoring their lead which made the scoreline 2-3 as it Carried on forward.

Another goal from Niclas Fullkrug made it 2-4 in the 89th minute of the game but it wasn’t good enough knowing Japan still had the lead against Spain.

The match ended with Germany crashing out despite their 2-4 victory which wasn’t enough as Japan already beat Spain to seal top spot in the group.
