Argentina Government Dedicates Special Christmas Tribute To Lionel Messi (Video)

Argentina’s government have dedicated a Christmas tribute aimed at the Argentina people to Lionel Messi using the World Cup trophy, MySportDab reports.

Lionel Messi capped his heroic 18 years of professional football with the World Cup trophy after playing in two finals.

In a breathtaking 2022 World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, Messi bagged a brace to put Argentina ahead twice against France.

The match was dragged to penalties after his PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick, but Messi and his teammates held on to win the game on penalties.

Lionel Messi’s World Cup heroics helped Argentina win the 18-carat gold trophy for the third time in their history.

Messi also bagged the best player award, scoring seven goals in the tournament and delivering three assists.

He and his teammates received a heroic reception at Argentina’s capital Bueno Aires after bringing home the trophy.

Now, Argentina have, once again, celebrated Lionel Messi’s heroic achievement with a Christmas tribute aimed at the Argentina people but dedicated to Lionel Messi.

In a heartwarming video, a young boy is shown unboxing the World Cup trophy.

In the video, the wide-eyed young boy was darting down the stairs before he bumped into a giant gift wrapped up in red ribbons.

The boy opens the box, trying to find out what is inside, and is shocked to be greeted with a World Cup trophy after he finished opening it.

Mesmerized with what he has seen, he picks up the trophy and exclaims ‘Gracias Papa Noel’ before kissing it.

The video, which was a Christmas greeting to the Argentina people, was dedicated to Lionel Messi. It was captioned: ‘Thank you Papa Lionel.’

In Argentina, Santa Claus is known as Papa Noel, but it has been altered in tribute to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
