FT: England 6-2 Iran, Three Lions Opens With Big WIN! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

The Three Lions of England have begun their 2022 World Cup campaign on a winning note with a comfortable 6-2 victory over Iran, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The Gareth Southgate-led team showed what they made are made of going into the tournament as they dominated play against less-fancied Iran.

Iran were the underdogs throughout the game as they sat back to defend against England, who were mounting pressure and looking for an early goal.

Despite dominating play from the start of the game, the Three Lions could not find the back of the net as they kept missing some open and clear chances.

It was not long before they finally broke the goal deadlock and opened the scoring in the game to cap their brilliant effort.

Jude Bellingham scored a beautiful header from inside the box in the 35th minute from Luke Shaw’s cross.

After taking the lead, England continued to dominate play and push for a second. It was his first World Cup goal coming in his debut in the tournament.

Eight minutes later, it was Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka who doubled the lead for the Three Lions with an assist from Harry Maguire. Saka also earned his first World Cup goal with a beautiful strike.

England added another goal just before the end of the first half in the added time of the first half to make it 3-0.

This time, it was Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling on the score sheet with an assist from Harry Kane.

England went into the first-half break with a convincing and deserved 3-0 lead.

Second Half Report

England still dominated play as the second half began, with Iran pulling back to stay on the defense.

Saka scored again in the 62nd minute to make it 4-0 for the Three Lions, sinking the Iranians.

Despite their poor and unimpressive performance, Iran were able to pull one back three minutes later courtesy of a goal from Taremi.

It was England winning 4-1 as the game entered the 70th minute, and the Three Lions were still dominating play and pushing for more goals.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford also recorded his goal for the Three Lions in the 71st minute to make it 5-1 for the team.

It was a rout for the Three Lions. Jack Grealish also had his name on the score sheet to make it an astonishing 6-1 lead in the 90th minute.

The game finally ended 6-2, with Taremi scoring again for Iran as they settled for a heavy opening defeat.
