Coach Erik Ten Hag CONFIRMS Raphael Varane Injury Blow (Details)

Manchester United Coach Erik ten Hag has now provided a bad update on Raphael Varane’s injury, MySportDab reports.

The former Ajax Coach has confirmed that Varane can’t play again for United until after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Varane got injured in the second half of United’s match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The 29-year-old stretched out his right foot away from his body towards the ball as he tried to cut off a pass leading Chelsea on an attack.

However, it ended badly for him and he was visibly in some pain and had to be substituted immediately.

He was visibly distraught as he limped off the field and fans started wondering if he could play in the World Cup in November.

Now, Coach ten Hag has confirmed that Varane will miss United’s next six matches until the World Cup due to his hamstring injury.

‘Varane is not part of the squad,’ Ten Hag told reporters.

‘Yes, He can’t play again for us until the World Cup so he will not be available. ‘

There are also questions about if Varane will be fit in time to play for Didier Deschamps’ France in Qatar.

However, Ten Hag could not confirm if Varane would play at the tournament in November.

‘I’m not sure but we have wait for the prognosis. We shall see as it develops, how the rehab goes.’

Varane’s injury is an opportunity for United captain Harry Maguire to try and win back his place in the starting line-up after not playing for weeks.

The England international suffered a thigh problem recently during the last international break.

Maguire is now back in first-team training and it could be perfect timing as ten Hag will have to start him or Lindelof to replace Varane.
