Tensions At Old Trafford: Ronaldo Closes In On Serie A Return! (Details)

Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on Serie A return as Napoli renews interest in the former Juventus star amidst the simmering tensions at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

The Serie A giants are hoping the cash into Ronaldo’s deteriorating situation under Erik Ten Hag to secure a move.

The beleaguered Portuguese star was linked to the Serie A outfit last summer after he called for an exit from Old Trafford after the team failed to qualify for Champions League.

According to the Sun, Napoli are still keenly interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo and are closely monitoring the situation at Old with the former Juventus forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been under fire recently after his angry outburst at Old Trafford.

The seven times Ballon d’Or winner refused to come on in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur and instead stormed off the stadium in anger before the match ended.

His action forced a fuming Erik Ten Hag to mete out punishments as the former Ajax manager insisted that there be consequences.

Ronaldo has been banned from first-team training and has been forced to train with the U21.

He was also fined and excluded from the squad in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli are reportedly interested in cashing into the fallout at Old Trafford to sign Cristiano Ronaldo as they hope to boost and continue their brilliant performance this season.

MySportDab understands that Napoli’s move for Cristiano Ronaldo will face one particular hurdle – a heavy wage bill.

As things stand, the highest earner at Napoli is Zielinski, with a weekly wage of £90,000.

Cristiano Ronaldo earned a whooping £480,000 at Manchester United.

After the team failed to qualify for Champions League, the wage cap was slashed by 25%, leaving the weekly wage of the former Real Madrid star at £360k.

However, there are reports that Ronaldo may be willing to take a pay cut, just as his agent Jorge Mendez announced, to find a route out of the suffocating conditions at Old Trafford.
