WATCH: Nick Pope Wins Premier League Save Of The Month Award! (Video)

Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope has won the Premier League best save of the month of August, MySportDab reports.

The England international produced a stunning save to deny Adam Lallana a goal for Brighton.

Pope proved his £10m signing from Burnley in the game against Brighton after joining Newcastle from Burnley in June 2022.

The game, which was tied on a draw, would head the way of the Seagulls after Lallana nearly secured all three points for Brighton.

The Graham Potter-lead team dominated the game and took much control, with Newcastle being on the defensive due to a lackluster performance.

Nick Pope rose to the occasion several times before his last fantastic save that made the headlines and was nominated for the Premier League award for the month of August.

His save ensured that the Magpies headed home with a point after successfully holding the Seagulls to a draw.

Eddie Howe’s side had to rely heavily on Pope in between the sticks to save the game and secure a draw against their dominant opponents.

After the match, Lallana was full of praise for Nick Pope, his opponent, and had tipped the England international as the man of the match in the game and an excellent shot-stopper.

“Pope was man of the match and that explains it all,”

“He’s a world-class keeper, plays for England. He showed exactly why Newcastle bought him in the summer. I have known him since my time with England. He’s a great lad, and he’s a great shot-stopper.”

Brighton put up a brilliant display. An excellent cross for Lallana saw the star get in between the defenders and sent a downward header back where it came from. He did everything right.

Then the big palm of Nick Pope came to Newcastle’s rescue like it will hopefully do many times this season.
