N’Golo Kante has turned down a Chelsea contract extension offer, MySportDab reports.

The Todd Boehly-led Chelsea has been hit with a blow in their bid to extend N’Golo Kante’s Chelsea contract as the French star has reportedly rejected the offer.

Kante’s contract runs out at the end of the summer, and the new Chelsea management led by Todd Boehly has been intent on keeping the defensive midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

Despite being an integral part of the Chelsea Champions League winning campaign last year, N’Golo has suffered injury blows that have seen him ruled out of most games.

He is yet to start any match in the current 2022/23 Premier League campaign after being sidelined by injury.

Despite injury scares,  Chelsea have shown interest in renewing N’Golo Kante’s contract, but negotiations between the two parties have seen little or no progress.

Before handing over the club to Todd Boehly, Roman Abramovich proposed a three-year contract with an additional one-year extension.

The Todd Boehly-led management has also proposed a contract extension offer for N’Golo Kante, but this time it is a two-year contract offer plus a one-year extension.

According to the Athletic, N’Golo Kante has rejected both offers as he prefers a contract extension with a longer duration if he must agree to the proposal.

As it stands, it is unclear whether Todd Boehly will repackage N’Golo Kante’s contract extension offer.

If it doesn’t happen, then the 31-year-old is set on Stamford Bridge exit after his contract expires at the end of the summer.

Since joining Chelsea, Kante has won thre Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, including the Premier League title.
