Derby County has appointed a new coach just 2 days after former manager Wayne Rooney announced his exit, MySportDab reports.

Wayne Rooney has announced his exit from the club after publicly expressing his desire to exit his managerial role.

Derby County had a difficult and unsuccessful football season in the 2021-22 Championship.

The club has been confirmed relegated from Championship after finishing 23rd on the log with 34 points.

Their points were deducted, and they also had financial issues linked to a pile-up of debts.

Rooney admitted that the club’s management had pleaded with him to stay as manager, but he had to exit his role.

The former Manchester United and Everton striker thanked the club’s management for the opportunity afforded him to be a part of the club.

Derby County has had all their defenders and goalkeeper run out of contract and had to battle a pile of debts too.

2 days after Rooney announced his departure, another England and former Brighton assistant manager has taken over the role.

Sky sports news reported that Derby County had appointed Liam Rosenior as their new manager.

Rosenior retired from football and took up an assistant coaching job with the Brighton U-23 team.

He was also a notable football pundit and analyst with Skysport news.

Before his appointment as Derby County manager, Rosenior has been an assistant manager in Derby County since January, 2021.

As of the time of filing this report, details of Liam Rosenior’s contract with Derby County is yet to be revealed.
