Roman Abramovich Issues Statement As 19 Years Chelsea Reign Ends! (Full Details)

Roman Abramovich’s 19-year-old Chelsea ownership ends after Todd Boehly’s takeover was confirmed, and final touches are expected on Monday, MySportDab reports.

MySportDab learns that the UK Government has finally approved the change of ownership, which will end Abramovich’s 19 years reign at Chelsea.

Before the approval, Abramovich and the UK government were embroiled in a bitter face-off and disagreements over who will take ownership and control of the £4.25 takeover deal.

The Russian investor had purportedly insisted that he would recover the loan he gave to the club after he was stripped of the ownership of the club.

The UK government issued threats of non-renewal of the Blues’ licence, which was set to expire on 31st May.

The government needed assurances that Abramovich, with his alleged ties to Vladimir Putin, would not benefit from the deal’s proceeds.

 

The row between the Russian investor and the government at Westminster resulted in a disarrayed Blues dressing room with players ready to exit the club, to protect their careers.

Chelsea Coach Thomas Tuchel had admitted that the face-off between the embattled Chelsea owner and the Uk government had affected the team.

MySportDab learnt that the UK government backed off from threats of not renewing the Blues’ licence when Abramovich’s concession was back up legally.

Chelsea had officially announced the change of guard at Stamford Bridge. Todd Boehly is ready to take over, and Abramovich has broken his long silence during the takeover process.

This may be Abramovich’s last statement before quitting his role as the owner of Chelsea after19 years rule.

The statement, which was carried by the Chelsea website, states:

“I announced my intentions to sell Chelsea three months ago. Throughout the three months, the management have been hardworking trying to find a hand to leave the club in, who will take the club to the next level”

He advises the new ownership on what it means to take charge of Chelsea and his accomplishments with the club since 2003.

“There is a great responsibility that comes with the ownership of this club. I have been a first-hand witness to what can be achieved since I joined this club 20 years ago. My aim has been to out the next owner in the right mindset to bring success to both the men’s and women’s teams, including the club’s other vital part – the Chelsea Foundation and the Academy.

He expressed his joy with the successful completion of the search for a new owner and wished them success as they took over the reins at Chelsea FC. E also thank the staff, players and fans for their support so far.

“I am happy that the search for a new owner has been completed. I pray for success for them. I thank you all for being a part of this club—the staff, players, fans and everyone. Our joint accomplishments have opened doors for million to benefit from, and I am proud of that. We have built this legacy together. Thank you all from Roman.

On Monday, all logistics concerning the transfer of ownership to Todd Boehly will be concluded. Abramovich’s 19 years reign at Stamford Bridge will come to an end.
