FT: Southampton 1-4 Man City, Riyad Mahrez On Target (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Man City made it through into the semi-final of the Emirates FA Cup after beating Southampton 1-4, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Both teams had it good in the first half of the encounter which saw them both scoring one each after 45 minutes.

The first 10 minutes of the encounter wasn’t that bad as both teams were evenly balanced in everything they were doing on the pitch as it carried on going forward.

Southampton Man City

Man City scored the opening goal in the 12th minute after an amazing finish from Raheem Sterling which saw the scoreline turned 0-1 as it carried on.

Southampton did everything possible to make sure they comeback in the game, but nothing happened despite all the amount of opportunities that came through.

The leveler came in the 45th minute plus additional time as an own-goal from Aymeric Laporte gifted the home side a goal and scoreline 1-1.

The first half ended with Southampton 1-1 Man City as they both headed inside for the break after 45 minutes of football played between them.

Second Half Report

The second half started off brilliantly for both teams who had equal share of play in the first few minutes.

Man City took the lead in the 61st minutes of the game after a penalty was converted by Kevin De Bruyne who made things 1-2 for the away side.

Things carried on with Southampton doing everything possible to hold off the goals from going in, but it didn’t stop as Phil Foden made it 1-3 in the 75th minute.

Another one followed up shortly, and this time it was Riyad Mahrez scoring in the 78th minute of the encounter making it 1-4 for Manchester City.

Nothing else happened as the match ended with Southampton 1-4 Man City which means Pep Guardiola’s side makes it to the Emirates FA Cup semi-final.
