Manchester United have stepped up their bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji, MySportDab reports.

The defender is keen on making a move elsewhere as he has turned down offers to extend his contract in Germany.

The Switzerland International might be on his way to Manchester United as they already made an offer of about €30 million for Manuel Akanji.

His performance since joining the club has been incredible seeing him helped them over the couple of years.

The defender is now open to making a move to another team leaving Manchester United on high alert with an offer already made.

The Red Devils will be looking to secure a move for the player who could add more firepower to their defense ahead of next season.

Manchester United have, according to SportBild, tabled an offer for Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji ahead of summer window.

The defender who is said to be valued at around €30 million (£25m/$34m) is being eyed by the English Premier League side ahead of next season.

Manchester United are also looking to pay him more than what he currently earn with Borussia Dortmund.

The Swiss star, who has rejected the offer of fresh terms in Germany, has been presented with a contract proposal from the Red Devils as they seek to win the race for his signature.

They might not be the only side looking to make such move happen as other will also be considering their options when the window opens.

The defender has less than 18 months left on his Borussia Dortmund contract before running out.

They have to sanction a move when the summer window open or risk losing him for nothing in 2023 which he will drop to free agent.

Nothing has been agreed upon as we wait to see how things go in the coming months before transfer window open.
