Chelsea Consider Bid For Barcelona Defender Sergino Dest (Details)

Chelsea are now considering a January bid for Barcelona defender Sergino Dest, MySportDab reports.

Coach Thomas Tuchel wants to strengthen his defence during the January transfer window.

Barcelona signed him from Ajax last year ahead of Bayern Munich and he played frequently at Camp Nou under Ronald Koeman.

However, since Koeman has been sacked and the arrival of Xavi, Dest is now behind in the pecking order.

Now, According to The Express, Barcelona are ready to sell Dest in January with Chelsea one of the clubs interested in the player.

The Blues want to sign him as cover for left back Ben Chilwell.

Dest is played mostly as a right-back but his versatility enables him to play on the opposite flank effectively.

Dest has only been available for three of Xavi’s six La Liga matches so far and played the full 90 minutes only once.

But, Spanish Newspapers believe that Xavi prefers Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo as centre-backs and Sergi Roberto at right-back.

Meanwhile, Barcelona legend Dani Alves will also be able to play for the club in January after joining on a free transfer.

MySportDab understands that Xavi wants to sign someone of experience in the form of Chelsea Legend Cesar Azpilicueta.

Despite being Chelsea captain, Azpilicueta has been forced to stay on the sidelines than usual this season.

Chelsea could offer Azpilicueta in a deal for Dest to Barcelona in January.
