Super Eagles Receive Boost As Odion Ighalo Arrives Camp

Super Eagles received a massive boost for their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde as Odion Ighalo finally arrived camp today.

Initially, it was feared that he would miss out as he was yet to join the Squad four days after camp was opened but those fears will now be forgotten upon his arrival.

His presence would surely boost the morale of the squad as Nigeria prepare to earn a ticket to the third round of qualifications in order to get selected for FIFA 2022.

While speaking with the NFF media, Ighalo said: “I’m happy to be back. It’s been a long time. Over two years now. It’s good to be back and to see some of the guys”

Following the completion of Afcon 2019, Ighalo retired from international duties after Nigeria won the bronze and the talisman picked up the topscorer’s award.

However, Ighalo has been in immense form lately for Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab, notching nine goals in 11 starts, prompting Rohr to recall him.

The Super Eagles will visit Liberia to take on the Lone Star in matchday five at the Grande Stade de Tanger on Saturday.

They will then host the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the final match of the group games three days later at the Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos.
