FT: Portugal 1-2 Serbia, Mitrovic Winner Stun Portuguese Qatar Dreams! | HIGHLIGHTS

Portugal failed to qualify for Qatar 2022 directly after losing 1-2 against Serbia, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Good first half between both Nations who had so much to offer going forward as it was a key game got them to advance directly to Qatar 2022.

Renato Sanches scored in the 2nd minutes of the encounter which saw Portugal taking an early lead from a goal which was assisted by Bernardo Silva to make it 1-0.

Serbia continued the game with them pushing more bodies forward with hopes of getting the equalizer immediately which didn’t come for them as they carried on with the encounter.

Dusan Tadic scored in the 33rd minute of the first half to pull his country back into the game with a brilliant finish which turned the scoreline 1-1 leaving both teams to push more.

The first half didn’t last long as it ended with Portugal 1-1 Serbia which saw them both heading inside for the break with them settling for a draw scoreline after 45 minutes.

Second Half Report

The second half started out good between both teams who were tied on same points with the Portuguese having a better goal advantage to make it to Qatar 2022.

Serbia and Portugal continued doing everything in their power to ensure they take the lead which would see them standing a more better chance of making it as group winner.

The goal refused to come for both of the Nations who needed it badly with the Serbians more desperate as a win will see them overtake the Portuguese and finish as first placed.

They approached the final few stages with more opportunities but no goal happened with it looking like a game that nothing could be happening with so much work coming.

Mitrovic late stunner in the 90th minute plus added time finished off the work at Lisbon as the scoreline turned 1-2.

The match came to an end with Portugal failing to make Qatar 2022 after losing 1-2 against Serbia which will see them play another round.
