FT: Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa, Blues Win 4-3 Via Penalties! (HIGHLIGHTS)

Chelsea advance into the next round of the Carabao Cup after beating Aston Villa 4-3 on penalties with them playing 1-1 for 90 minutes, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

An evenly balanced first half saw both teams starting up the match in good shape going forward as it was everything to place for in the Carabao cup.

Chelsea was the dominant side as expected in the game which saw the opportunities coming slowly for them despite all the advantages they had going forward.

Everything was also looking good for Aston Villa who dealt with every threat easily without making any mistakes with their well-organized defense that looked solid.

It was looking very poor for Thomas Tuchel’s side who needed to see off the game as quickly as possible with their eyes on Manchester City during the weekend.

The first half ended with Chelsea 0-0 Aston Villa as they both headed inside for the break after a balanced 45 minutes of football.

Second Half Report

Things started well in the second half which saw promises coming from the two teams who had early opportunities to show for it.

It was Chelsea who drew first blood after Timo Werner scored in the 54th minute to make the scoreline 1-0 with Reece James making the assist.

Aston Villa didn’t wait long until Cameron Archer leveled things 1-1 in the 64th minute thanks to an amazing display that saw them getting the goal.

The match carried on further with nothing to separate them as they entered into the last few minutes of play which only opportunities were created.

The second half came to an end with Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa as both teams had to go into penalties as a winner couldn’t be seen in the match.

Chelsea was unstoppable in the penalty shootout which saw them scoring their first three as Aston Villa missed two out theirs.

The shootout progressed further until it finally saw it ended with Chelsea 4-3 Aston Villa which saw the Blues progressing into the next round.
