Manchester United Prepare New Contract For Coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer Despite Final Loss (Details)

Manchester United are ready to offer Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a new contract and provide him with financial support this summer, MySportDab reports.

Despite losing the Europa League Final against Villarreal on Wednesday, United still plan to offer Solskjaer a new contract.

According to The Telegraph, United and Solskjaer will begin talks for a new three-year contract extension until 2024.

The Norwegian manager’s current contract at Manchester United is due to expire next year.

Manchester United have now ended the 2020-21 without a trophy this season despite being close to victory in the Europa League.

However, The United owners and board are convinced that Solskjaer is the right man for the job after a second place finish in the Premier League.

Despite the progress this season, United still have problems that must be fixed as soon as possible.

The inconsistency in performance was clear in United’s 11-10 shootout loss on Wednesday night against Villarreal.

To challenge next season, Manchester United need to spend big this summer and bring in new players to improve the current squad.

MySportDab understands that United are ready now more than ever to back Solskjaer fully in the upcoming transfer market.

The Red Devils want to sign a forward, defender and central midfielder as part of plans this summer.

Jadon Sancho remains a target for Manchester United again this summer, with Borussia Dortmund now more open to selling the player.

Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish is another option out wide in attack for United if a deal for Sancho fails again this summer.

Executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, will remain for this summer and will work with Solskjaer to bring in a defender and central midfield player.

Donny van de Beek signed from Ajax last season has failed to leave up to expectations in his first full season at Manchester United.

Some players could also leave United this summer such as David De Gea, or Paul Pogba.

De Gea remains determined to become United’s No.1 Goalkeeper again but the Red Devils could sell him if a good offer is presented.

For Paul Pogba his future remains undecided, with his contract set to expire next year.

It is clear now that the summer transfer window could play a vital role for Manchester United before the start of the next season.
