“Kylian Mbappe Hat-trick Motivated Me’: BVB Star Erling Haaland

Borussia Dortmund Striker Erling Haaland has admitted that his two goals in the Champions League against Sevilla was inspired by Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick, MySportDab reports. 

Haaland has revealed he became more motivated after Mbappe’s performance in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 win against Barcelona.

Mbappe ended Barcelona on Tuesday at the Nou Camp with a beautiful hat-trick to almost secure PSG’s place in the next round.

On Wednesday, it was Haaland’s turn to show his quality as he scored twice and provided an assit in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 win against Sevilla.

After the Sevilla match, Haaland admitted Mbappe’s Hat-trick at the Nou Camp gave him more motivation.

The 20-year-old told Viaplay: ‘It feels great to score goals.

‘I love to play in the Champions League and after I saw Mbappe score his hat-trick yesterday I got more motivation.

‘He scored some fantastic goals.’

Haaland’s goalscoring record has attracted interest from top European clubs interested in signing him.

Asked how he felt about the rumours, he said: ‘It feels nice when someone wants you.’

Haaland and Mbappe are now showing the World the next potential stars to dominate World Football over the next 10 years, when Messi and Ronaldo retire.

Haaland’s quick brace for BVB moved him to 18 goals in 13 Champions League games.

The Norwegian is on track to overtake Mbappe as the player with the most goals in Europe’s top competition before 21 years old.

Haaland has now scored 10 times for Borussia Dortmund in seven Champions League matches.
