West Ham have now announced the signing of midfielder Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United, MySportDab reports.

Lingard has now joined the Hammers on loan for the rest of the current 2020-21 season.

The 28-year-old had barely played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, with only three matches across all competitions.

When Manchester United made him available for loan, A host of English and foreign clubs showed interest in signing the creative midfielder.

However, West Ham have now won the race for the Lingard’s signature.

Speaking to West Ham United TV, Lingard: ‘I’m very excited to be here.

‘It’s a totally new chapter for me.

‘There are no guarantees but I am here to work hard and help the team. That’s why i am here. My goal is want to enjoy football and get back to playing again.

‘There were different clubs with offers but, I felt this was the right step for me moving forward.

‘I’ve had a good relationship with the manager in the past when he was at Man U and I’ve worked with him before, he is aware of my qualities and what I offer the team.

‘I know some players also, I know Rice from the England squad and I believe I can settle in here quickly.’

Also, West Ham boss David Moyes was delighted about signing Jesse Lingard.

‘I’ve seen him develop from a young age, when he was still a right winger, and he’s also played on the left,’ Moyes said.

‘He’s played as a No 10 for England, he’s played as No.8 for England, and I think if we wanted to play with a False 9, he is perfect for it.

‘I am eager for him to bring us more quality, and the winning mentality from his playing days as a Manchester United player.’
