Manchester United Coach Solskjaer Blasts Gareth Southgate For Mason Greenwood Act!

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has slammed Gareth Southgate for calling Mason Greenwood to the England national team, MySportDab reports.

The 18-year-old made his debut for England in the 1-0 win against Iceland.

But Greenwood was sent home after breaching Iceland CoronaVirus lockdown rules by allowing two girls into his hotel room.

Mason Greenwood scored 17 goals for Manchester United across all competitions last season.

As a result of his performance, Greenwood was  given his England debut.

A week later, Greenwood made headlines again when a footage of him emerged inhaling laughing gas and he later apologised for it.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed that he spoke to the United player but slams Southgate for calling him to his squad.

“I did everything possible to give him a rest during the summer, he needed it physically and mentally, and then suddenly he’s called up and is there in the press,” Solskjaer said.

He added: “Yes I spoke to Mason and what we speak about or discuss is absolutely between the two of us.

“He had a fantastic season, he’s just made a breakout and the club worked very hard to give Mason enough time on the pitch.

“The season comes to an end and in less than two weeks, he’s called up to the national team.

“I did everything i could to give him a rest and we made the request that he should have a rest.

“We’ve done everything possible to protect him, I’ve done what I can and i believe he’ll be fine.”

Manchester United start the new Premier League season tomorrow against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
