Stoke City have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder John Mikel Obi, MySportDab reports.

Mikel has joined Stoke City on a one-year contract agreement.

He has now joined the likes of James Chester, Morgan Fox and Steven Fletcher at the bet365 Stadium ahead of the new 2020/21 season.

The former Chelsea player returns to English football after some time with Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Stoke City Coach Michael O’Neill said: “We’re happy to bring Mikel to the Club. His playing career speaks a lot and shows his quality as a player.

“We talked for around four hours and he told us that he wants a return into the Premier League and end his career there and hopefully he will with Stoke City.”
