Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard Speaks On Hakim Ziyech And Timo Werner Transfer Delay

Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard has spoken about new summer signings Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner transfer delays, MySportDab reports.

Frank Lampard confirmed that they have not yet arrived in the UK because of the coronavirus quarantine rules.

Chelsea spend almost £90m to sign Ajax ace Ziyech and RB Leipzig forward Werner ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Blues are hoping to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League.

However, Frank Lampard has confirmed Timo Werner is on break after the Bundesliga season ended last week.

Ajax man Ziyech is expected to join his new team-mates sooner but there are delays for now.

“They are yet to arrive,” Lampard said.

“We await the new quarantine news to see if they can travel over.

“Werner is on a break and will join in late July.

“Ziyech will join earlier, but we need to abide by quarantine rules for that to happen.”

Frank Lampard was also nominated for the Premier League Manager Of The Month Award For June alongside Manchester United Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Newcastle Coach Steve Bruce and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Chelsea are hoping to bounce back from the recent 3-2 loss at West Ham in mid week.

The Blues plan to keep their Champions League hopes alive when they face relegation-threatened Watford on Saturday night.
