Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has now started a friendly rivalry with his friend Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
Fernandes has enjoyed a great start to life at Old Trafford and also helped United to secure a 2-0 in his first Manchester derby in the English Premier League
However, his fellow Portuguese player Silva has challenged Fernandes, telling him that “Bruno still has to eat a lot of soup to win the titles’ on a Portuguese TV show.
Manchester United and Manchester City have played against each other four times this 2019-20 season across all competition, United won three of them which includes a Premier League double.
But, Manchester City have won the Premier League thrice since United last won it in the 2012-13 season, so Silva made sure to remind Fernandes that he’s got bragging rights.
‘I visited Tróia with some friends and it was very fun. We did alot, ran, played tennis. Now I’ve played in Manchester for 10 days and I’m already sick of it,’ joked Silva.
‘I spoke to Bruno like three days ago. He’s won 1-0 in the games against us here, but he still needs a lot of soup to win the titles.’
However, both Manchester clubs will miss out on the title again this season, with Liverpool top and 25 points clear.
Manchester City are second on the Premier League table with 57 points, while Manchester United remain fifth with 45 points.
MySportDab can confirm that in nine games for Manchester United, Fernandes has scored three goals and also gave four assists.
Bernardo Silva has played 40 matches for Manchester City this season across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.
