Chelsea players and staffs have returned to training at Cobham on Tuesday to begin working in small groups, MySportDab reports.

Premier League announced on Monday that players could resume training in a better way, with players allowed to work in groups of five.

Chelsea wasted no time in making use of the new guidelines, with their players seen working together in small groups at the Cobham training ground.

Coach Frank Lampard and his coaching staffs were present as players got back together and they both worked primarily on fitness.

Lampard’s team are on a tight schedule with June 12 still being speculated as a possible return date, despite some players expressing concerns.

However, Frank Lampard has insisted he will listen to the concerns of his players as he looks to get the right balance between a difficult training programme with reduced staff levels.

‘It’s our job as staffs to plan how phase one will look because it will be very different due to restrictions on how we should work,’ Lampard said.

‘It’s good for the everyone because they all want to return back for training in the right conditions; we know it’s a difficult time for everyone so it is challenge to get everything right.

‘Our job is to make sure that we are careful with the players. The first phase will have to be very careful but all coaches will be thinking about something similar.

‘You can’t just say we’re going to do this because it is something that has affected everyone and families.

‘Football was put on hold as expected. Everyone wants to resume olaying, we all miss football, but we need to ensure that our players are comfortable.’
