BREAKING! Premier League Stars Confirm Coronavirus Initiative To Help NHS Raise Funds

Premier League players have agreed to an initiative which would help the NHS fight coronavirus, MySportDab reports.

Various players announced the same statement on Wednesday, with the hashtag ‘#PlayersTogether’.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, posted the message on their social media accounts.

Their message read: “Our prayers and thoughts go out to everybody affected by this crisis.

“By sticking together we will get through this. Stay Home, Protect The NHS, Save Lives. #PlayersTogether.”

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock last week demanded for all Premier League stars to agree for pay cuts to help in the coronavirus fight.

Also, The Professional Footballers’ Association has urged footballers to not agree accept pay cuts with their clubs.

MySportDab understands that the PFA don’t expect any club to confirm cuts until June or July.

Talks about funds, which was organised by the PFA, continued over recent days.

Footballers are now looking to help NHS Charities with £4m already donated and more will follow.

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer even spoke about footballers being forced to take pay cuts.

“I think football is an easy target,” said Solskjaer.

“It’s unfair to target any individual or footballers as a group, because I already know these players do a great amount of work in the community, and players are doing a lot to help.

“Talks are underway between players and clubs on contribution they’ll make. It’s never easy and being called out is not fair for me.

“Mistakes have happened and have been made by various people and that’s how we also learn.

“Now it’s about making quality decisions, good decisions, we all want to help the NHS, the workers and I think it’s important every club do the right thing.”
