“Wrong Decision” – Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp Reacts After 3-2 Atletico Madrid Loss!

Liverpool lost their grip on the Champions League after a costly goalkeeping error saw Atletico Madrid stage a late victory at Anfield, MySportDab reports.

Jurgen Klopp’s team appeared set for the quarter-finals early in extra-time as they led 2-0 but an unnecessary mistake by Goalkeeper Adrian changed the game totally and allowed Atletico substitute Marcos Llorente to score.

Adrian, who was playing due to Alisson Becker’s injury, make a wrong decision of clearing a simple pass then got himself into danger as Llorente rolled the ball past him.

MySportDab understands Liverpool went on to concede two more goals in extra-timr lose the match 4-2 on aggregate.

Jurgen Klopp refused to blame Adrian and said: ‘Every person who saw the game knows that it could have been very different. I loved our performance in the 90 minutes.

‘Our mistake was we scored our 2nd goal very late. I loved the football we played. We caused them alot of problems.

‘It was exceptional… The pass from Adrian was far from good. I love the boy but that is clearly a wrong decision. It was then easy to finish the situation off for them.

‘We will not blame anyone. He is a man and he knows it was his mistake. No one will judge him.’

Liverpool went ahead through a Gini Wijnaldum header to make it 1-0 after which Roberto Firmino put them in touching distance of the last eight but they completely lost their way in extra-time.

“That should not have had a massive influence but in that moment everything changed,’ said Klopp.

‘Everything before that changed. They knew it could be their win. We became tough, they got new players. Congratulations to Atletico.

‘I’m not the loser type and if I said everything that was on my mind I would come be regarded as the worst loser in the world.’

Asked to explain what he meant, Klopp said simply: ‘The way they play, I don’t understand it.’
