“Why He Snubbed Man United” – Erling Haaland’s Father Inge SPEAKS!

Striker Erling Haaland’s Father has explained why a transfer to Manchester United never materialised in the January transfer window, MySportDab reports.

United were very interested in signing another striker in the January transfer window with Haaland their number one top target.

The teenage sensation had shocked everyone with his performances in Europe with RB Salzburg in the Champions League and so many big clubs were linked with signing him because of his low release clause.

Haaland had a release clause of £17.1million, very cheap for Manchester United while being one of the most talented youngsters in world football.

But as the January transfer window almost opened, United appeared to be withdrawing their interest in signing the Norwegian.

After holding talks with Haaland’s representatives, United immediately pulled out of the transfer as they refused to include a share of any future sale to Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola.

Haland

MySportDab understands Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was very determined to sign Haaland, given they had both worked together before in Norway.

But Haaland’s father, Alf Inge Haaland has now revealed that Solskjaer was the only official at United that really wanted to sign the 19-year-old.

“You never know what would happen at other clubs,” Haaland’s Father inge Haaland told TV2.

“It may have proved to be good decision too, if we chose a different direction but We will never know an answer to that.

“But we are very delighted with the clubs he’s played for.

“You have to sign for a club where the whole club wants you, not only the coach.

“I think that’s a very important factor and also how the club has been consistent or inconsistent over the last five or ten years and what direction they are heading.

“Because it’s very dangerous to sign for a coach, because he can be sacked at any time.”

Instead, Haaland signed for Borussia Dortmund where he has improved his incredible goal-scoring records.

In 11 Bundesliga games, Haaland has scored 12 goals including a hat-trick on his debut in Germany against Augsburg.
