Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola Donates €1m To Help Fight CoronaVirus

Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has donated a sum of €1m to help in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak, MySportDab reports.

The Spanish Coach made his donation to a foundation based in Barcelona, Angel Soler Daniel.

The Spanish foundation is linked with the Official College of Doctors of Barcelona.

The funds will now be used to acquire all necessary health equipment to battle against the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement, the foundation revealed Guardiola’s donation on Tuesday: “Pep Guardiola has provided a donation of about one million euros to the Fundacio Angel Soler Daniel for the purchase and supply of necessary health equipment to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The fundraiser brought up by the the Official College of Doctors of Barcelona and managed is aimed at receiving donations from doctors who are part of the college and the general public to buy health materials which is currently out of stock in hospitals in Catalonia.

“It will also help in the production of alternative 3D production of respiratory masks and other protective items for health personnels.”

MySportDab understands the news was made public on the same day rivals Manchester United urged all fans to follow Government guidelines amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In a new message, Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and women’s Coach Casey Stoney said: “Firstly, on behalf of Manchester United, our thoughts are with everyone who has been directly affected by this virus and everyone dealing with its impact.

“These are difficult times and we all need to stay together to combat this global issue. It is very important for us all to follow government guidelines to help avoid the spread of COVID-19, wherever you are across the world.”

English Premier League and EFL matches have all been suspended until April 30 due to the deadly virus.
