The final was previously scheduled for May 30 in Turkish City of Istanbul but the coronavirus outbreak has forced UEFA to suspend all main competitions.

The Coronavirus crisis has totally affected the global sporting calendar, including European, domestic and international action.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin had a series of talks on Tuesday to help decide a course for the future of football.

In a statement released by UEFA after the meeting, it was announced ‘all competitions and games for clubs and national teams for both women and men have been suspended until further notice’.

The statement continued: ‘A key group has been set up with the interaction of leagues and club representatives to examine the calendar solutions that would allow for the completion of the season and any other decisions were made today.’

However, According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Champions League final has been put back by four weeks to June 27.

This comes after Euro 2020 was the first European tournament to be postponed until 2021 with news on Tuesday that the tournament will be held one year from now.
