BREAKING! Chelsea Star Callum Hudson-Odoi Tests Positive For CoronaVirus (Full Details)

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has tested positive for the coronavirus, just a few hours after Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta confirmed he’s also contracted the virus, MySportDab reports.

Chelsea have now confirmed that the entire first-team squad has been placed in isolation.

The Premier League will now hold an emergency meeting this morning, and it is expected that the Premier League season will be suspended.

Since it was confirmed that the season would continue as normal, Arsenal Coach Arteta has tested positive, and now Hudson-Odoi too.

MySportDab understands The entire Chelsea squad are now in quarantine, meaning tomorrow match against Aston Villa will definitely be postponed.

Hudson-Odoi is officially the first Premier League player to have tested positive, and MySportDab understands other players are still undergoing tests for confirmation.

In a statement, Chelsea confirmed the winger is “doing well” and recovering at home.

“Chelsea team player Callum Hudson-Odoi had a positive test result for Coronavirus this evening. Chelsea staffs who had recent close contact with the player in the men’s team will now self-isolate in line with Government health guidelines. These will include the full men’s team squad, coaching staffs and a number of backroom staff,” the club announced.

“It is expected that those who were not in close contact with Hudson-Odoi will return to work in the coming days. In the meantime, one of several separate buildings at our training ground, will remain closed. The rest of our training facilities, Stamford Bridge and our other facilities are operating normally.

“Hudson-Odoi displayed symptoms of a mild cold on Monday morning and has not attended the training ground since then as a precaution. However, his test came in positive yesterday evening and he will undergo a period of self-isolation.

“Despite testing positive for the virus, Callum is very health  and can’t wait to return to the training ground as soon as it is possible.

“We wish Callum a quick recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the club.”

The Chelsea first-team squad will be in isolation for next 14 days, though that will likely be from when Hudson-Odoi first came into contact with his team-mates which was on Monday.

However, the Blues are yet to confirm what date that will be, and it could have an impact on their upcoming match, provided the league won’t be suspended.

Now, The Premier League is expected to suspend the competition like Serie A, La Liga, the NBA, MLS, MLB and German Bundesliga for a number of weeks.
