Liverpool Star Roberto Firmino and team-mate Alisson Becker were both in tears after the forward was baptised in an emotional ceremony held in his swimming pool, MySportDab reports.
A large number of friends and family, also midfielder Fabinho, watched on as the Brazilian underwent the traditional Christian baptism.
Firmino was seen walking into the pool before having his head dunked under with teammake Alisson also standing in the pool.
As his head surfaces, Firmino embraced his wife Lari and was overcome by emotion while Alisson also tried to fight back tears.
MySportDab understands the ceremony was started by Brazilian gospel singer Isaias Saad and a group of other singers.
Most people in attendance were all wearing t-shirts with a cross-equals-love logo on it, which is commonly associated with the global Hillsong Church.
In a post on Instagram, Firmino wrote: ‘I gave you my victories and my failures I will give you too. My greatest title is your love Jesus!
‘Therefore, anyone in Christ, is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.’
