Injury Woes: Man United Boss Solksjaer Provides Scott McTominay Injury Update

Manchester United midfielder Scott Mctominay had to be substituted after picking up an injury in the 3-0 win against Partizan last night in the Europa League, MySportDab reports.

Mctominay was met with a crunching challenge midway through the second half and he struggled to shake off the pain before he was withdrawn.

He was not going to be risked by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer given how important he has become to the side this season in the absence of Paul Pogba.

The 22-year-old has started all 11 of United's Premier League matches so far.

However, Manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was not as optimistic at his post-match press conference.

"I don't know. It didn't look too good.

"He said he was gonna be okay out on the pitch. He said, 'I'll be fine, I'll be fine' because he's tough. But he had to come off. I hope he'll recover on Sunday, I'm not sure. It was the inside of his ankle, I think he went over his ankle."

Midfielders Paul Pogba (ankle) and Nemanja Matic are already out for the Brighton game and James Garner, 18, is the only other specialist midfielder aside from Fred available to Solskjaer.

Andreas Pereira is another option and started last season inthe holding role under Jose Mourinho, but has played as either a right winger or a playmaker under Solskjaer this season.

United have qualified for the Europa League round-of-32 withtwo group games to spare and travel to Kazakhstan later this month to face Astana.

They may need to beat Astana and AZ Alkmaar in their final group match to win Group L but have nine matches in December after they went through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
