Lionel Messi 'Calls' Neymar To Sign For Barcelona Over Real Madrid

Lionel Messi has called Neymar Jr to urge him into signing for Barcelona over Real Madrid as his transfer rumours continue, MySportDab reports.

Neymaris expected to leave PSG this summer, and has been linked with a spectacular return to the Nou Camp.
The Brazilian is unhappy in France, and has told the Ligue 1 champions that he wants out.

However, the French giants are reluctant to let him simply walk back to Barcelona, just two years after they paid £198million for him in 2017.

Barcelona are keen to sign the forward back this summer, and are looking to offload his compatriot Philippe Coutinhoin order to make way.

After multiple failed bids for the star, Barcelona were believed to be facing a losing battle to prize their former player away from PSG.

Instead, it looked like their arch rivals Real Madrid would pip themto his signature.

According to Spanish publication Marca, Lionel Messi has involved himself in the negotiations, as he looks to avoid the possibility of his friend playing against him in El Classico next year.

The Argentine is still close friends with Neymar from their time in Barcelona, during which time they won two La Liga titles, a Copa Del Rey, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Messi was desperate to keep his strike partner in Spain two yearsago when PSG came knocking, due to the pair’s relationship on and off the pitch.

Together with Luis Suarez, the trio nicknamed MSN scored a staggering 364 goals in all competitions.

And despite the club having signed Antoine Griezmann for £108mthis summer, Messi wants his old strike partner back as the club continues to push towards their first Champions League trophy since Neymar left.

The Argentine is desperate to claim the European cup again having come so close last year - and told fans at a recent event that continues to be his [and the team’s] priority.

Signing Neymar would be a major key in doing so, as it would surely give them the most fearful attack in European football.

Barcelona and PSG chiefs are set to meet in Liverpool this week at a meeting of the European Club Association, and it is expected that they could discuss the deal then.
