Chelsea Boss Maurizio Sarri In Talks To Replace Max Allegri At Juventus

Chelsea Manager Maurizio Sarri is in talks to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus after his exit was announced earlier today, according to reports in Italy.

Chelsea finished the Premier League season in third place and could end the campaign with a trophy courtesy of the upcoming Europa League final against Arsenal.

However, that derby clash in Baku could also spell the premature end of Sarri’s Chelsea tenure, with a move back to Italy on the cards as Allegri leaves the Allianz Stadium.

According to Italian outlet SNAI, The Old Lady have been in contact with Sarri after seeing approaches rejected by Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino earlier in the season.

The focus of Chelsea fans has been widely locked onto Eden Hazard’s plans as the Belgian nears a move to Real Madrid, with Sarri’s exit likely to be considered a far lighter blow.

Blues fans have endured a turbulent relationship with the 60-year-old since hejoined last summer, with his early team selections put under scrutiny.

Both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek found it hard to break into first-team plans at the beginning of the campaign, whilst N'Golo Kante was forced into a new position.

Despite the original discontent, Chelsea have managed to end the season on a positive note after clinching a third-place finish, above both Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Europa League final on June 1 could mark Sarri’s first trophy as a manager, with a return to Italy in the pipeline.
